Fleurie en Beaujolais
Village labelled as a « Station Verte » (green resort), a "Nature" destination par excellence
By staying at the Hotel des Grands Vins, in Fleurie, you are in the north of the Beaujolais, in the heart of its vineyards, between Lyon and Mâcon.
This pleasant environment delights wine and gastronomy lovers, who can visit the cellars and vineyards, of course, but it is also a perfect destination for beautiful "nature" discoveries with the family.
Authentic and friendly, Fleurie was awarded the « Station Verte » label in 2008 and more recently the « Vignobles et Découvertes » label. It offers beautiful walks as well as more sportive activities for the amateurs: starting points of hikes or trails, cycling loops, orientation courses...
From the centre of the village, you can take the "sentier des Lys" which will lead you to the Madone... a fun and educational trail, ideal for children to learn new things about nature, the work of the vine and the Fleurie appellation, while having fun!
From the Madone chapel, you can contemplate the magnificent panorama of the Fleurie appellation vineyards, the Saône valley and, with luck, the Alps and Mont Blanc on a clear day.
If you go a bit further away from Fleurie, you will find many remarkable sites: the emblematic Roche de Solutré, the unavoidable Abbey of Cluny, the geological site of Mont Brouilly listed as a Unesco heritage site, the village of Oingt listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Vaux-en-Beaujolais which inspired Gabriel Chevallier to write Clochemerle, and, of course, the many castles which can be found along our magnificent wine route... Among them, the Château de Pizay, the Château des Ravatys or the Château de Corcelles.
